The presenter of this show is Thordis Fridriksson.

The presenters tone like they are happy to be there and eager to talk and they also talk casually, like it was with a friend and are relaxed when talking. They are suitable because they sound professional, since they don't sound overly excited, it's like they know what they are doing. The technique I like is how she sounds enthusiastic and it keeps them interested and it makes it easier to listen to because she sounds calm at the same time.

The traffic presenter sounds calm and keeps talking at a constant tone for about a minute to talk about the road, he sounds sensible, which is useful because they aren't messing around and take it seriously. I would like to do what he does and stay calm, while being serious, since then it doesn't put the person listening off, since they aren't being really loud and it would be nice to hear and would be calming to the person too and would set a calm atmosphere and would make the person relaxed, while they listened to them talking about the roads and they could hear it clearly.

3 types of content - referring back to target audience

In Radio Cambridgeshire they have different types of content, one of these types of content would be the news. This is something that fits in with the target audience member, because of the fact that the target audience member did like listening to the news, since he would have it on in the background as well, while he's driving and since he's a politician, he likes to be informed about whats going on in the world. The news section talks about what events are happening in the are, they will also go to that area to get more information about it and they will interview people, so it's not just their opinion on certain things and you get an insight of what they think. They will also discuss big big problems that have been occurring. This content is good, this is because it tells you about the big problems that are happening which then informs you and allows you to know more about the situation. The amount of time spent on this content is 3 minutes and 34 seconds, which is a large proportion, it has the most time spent on it, it got the largest amount in the ten minute extract.

Another type of content he would like in Radio Cambridgeshire is the travel content, since it would tell him if the roads near him are bad or not, which would be useful for him, so he knows in advance if he has to go through another root to get to an important meeting or something.  The travel section talks about the roads, that are nearby in the local area and what is going on with them, so there could be a lot of traffic and tells you the specific location of where it's happening. The quality of this content is good, due to the fact it tells you about your area, which is helpful for if you are driving to work or driving your kids to school, so then you can tell them you will be late or you can take a different root if there was one.  The amount of time spent on this content is about 1 minute 16 seconds and has the third largest amount of time spent on it from a ten minute extract, from Radio Cambridgeshire. It is also live, so you know straight away and tells you then and there, so it wouldn't have changed by the time you hear it.


Another type of content on Radio Cambridgeshire is reaching out to the audience. This is where the presenters talk about something and the other person who is talking with them are on the phone to them and you can hear both of them, so they are reaching out to its audience/viewers and they talk about it, so it could be about names and the way she says it makes it sound like shes talking to everyone even though she isn't talking to someone directly, they also give you a number so you can send a text to join the discussion. The target audience would like this content because they then get to have a discussion about a particular thing, it might be something they like depending on what they were talking about before but they would get to join in and they might like being social so they would join in and since he is a politician, he would like to do that since he would get to discuss something with others and get their views and opinions on something. This content is good, this is because it is being interactive with it's views so they get to participate and say what they want to on the subject, like they did in the ten minute extract, it makes it more entertaining for them as well and gives them something to do. The amount of time spent on this content is 1 minute and 20 seconds, which is the second largest amount of time spent in the ten minute extract.


The purpose of sweepers is to tell listeners who have just joined what radio station they are listening to and gives you basic information and tells you what will be on next. And it is normally 5 seconds and it is pre-recorded. And the quality of this content is good, this is because it tells you the basics of whats happening and the radio stations name which is useful for the listener.
